Yes, to use the add-on, you need to provide your own API Key from Google AI Studio. This allows you to control your own costs and usage limits directly with Google.

You can get a free API key by visiting Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com). Simply create a project, generate an API key, and paste it into the add-on sidebar settings.

When using the Gemini API through our add-on, your data is handled according to Google's API Terms of Service. Generally, data sent via the API is not used to train their global models, providing more privacy than the consumer version of Gemini/ChatGPT.

Custom functions (like =GEMINI()) are used for bulk processing directly in cells. The Sidebar is an interactive chat interface used for drafting, refining content, and accessing the Prompt Library without writing formulas.

We currently offer full support for Google Sheets, Docs, and Forms. Gmail integration is currently in beta for Pro users, and Slides support is on our upcoming roadmap.

Licenses are tied to a single Google Workspace account. However, you can use that account across different devices and browsers seamlessly.

If you reach your Google AI Studio limit (Free tier), the functions will return an error. You can either wait for your quota to reset or upgrade to a 'Pay-as-you-go' plan in your Google Cloud Console.

Google offers a 'Free of charge' tier and a 'Pay-as-you-go' tier for the Gemini API. Our add-on works with both. The Pro subscription unlocks advanced features within the add-on interface itself.

When you first install the add-on, you automatically get 7 days of Pro features. No credit card is required. After 7 days, you will revert to the Free version unless you choose to upgrade.

Absolutely. You can cancel your monthly or yearly subscription at any time through our billing portal. You will retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment that gives you permanent access to all current and future Pro features of the add-on. It's the best value for long-term users.

You can choose between all available models in Google AI Studio, including Gemini 1.5 Flash (optimized for speed and cost) and Gemini 1.5 Pro (optimized for complex reasoning and large contexts).

Google's official version requires a fixed monthly fee per user. Our add-on is more flexible: it allows you to use your own API key (potentially for free), provides custom spreadsheet functions like =GEM_LIST(), and includes a specialized Prompt Library that the official version lacks.

This usually means you have hit the rate limits of your Google AI Studio API key. If you are on the free tier, Google limits the number of requests per minute. You can either slow down your processing or enable 'Pay-as-you-go' in AI Studio to increase limits.

The add-on can handle thousands of rows, but Google Sheets itself has a timeout for custom functions (usually 30 seconds). For very large datasets, we recommend using our 'Sidebar Execution' mode, which can process data in batches without timing out.

This is a standard Google permission required for any add-on that needs to read data from your Sheet/Doc to send it to the AI and then write the response back to your file. We never access your files unless you explicitly run a function or use the sidebar.

After 7 days, Pro features (like bulk processing and advanced sidebar tools) will be disabled. However, the basic =GEM() function and standard features will remain available for free forever.

This is usually caused by being logged into multiple Google accounts in the same browser session. Please try opening the Sheet in an Incognito/Private window or log out of all other Google accounts and try again.
